Cressogno

The hamlet at the foot of the southern slope of the Pizzo di Cressogno is formed by a lower and an upper nucleus. The lower part, the most ancient, below the main road, right on the lake with a  nice little harbour, includes the ex-Prina palace where Antonio Fogazzaro set the residence of the Marchesa Maironi, a leading character of the novel ”Piccolo Mondo Antico” (Little Ancient World), which has made Valsolda world famous.
