| Oratory of St. Charles in St. Mamete. The circular building was built in 1612 and is situated on a rock which dominates the hamlet. Inside the oratory there is an altar-piece symbolizing the Saint. The project is attributed to Domenico Pellegrini.

Saint Charles Borromeo Archbishop of Milan, deployed in a relatively short life very intense pastoral activity, consuming his energies in the undertaking ascetic, in charity and church reform. It is among the major promoters of renewal in the faith and customs enshrined in the Council of Trent. Expressed through seminars and a new model provisions Synod pastor of souls, which combines the austerity and prayer apostolic zeal. Its action is extended to reforming liturgical discipline (of the Roman Rite and Ambrosian), catechesis and care for the poor. His pastoral charity is manifested especially in the famous plague of Milan.For it is said that the Holy Valsolda had a particular predilection, so that, while ignoring other honorary titles, said he loved "Lord of Valsolda". |  |
